In 2018, I was selected among several designers to create the visual identity for the 58th anniversary of Benin’s independence. It was the first time in more than twenty years that the Presidency sought a truly representative logo for the national celebration. With only three days to explore and propose a new direction, I presented six concepts, and the one that best captured the spirit of the country was chosen.

L’objectif était de créer un symbole minimaliste, intemporel et immédiatement reconnaissable, capable de dépasser l’événement et de s’inscrire durablement dans la mémoire collective. Ce projet, réalisé à titre honorifique, m’a offert un échange téléphonique avec Monsieur le Président Patrice Talon pour me féliciter, ainsi que l’accès à de nombreuses autres opportunités gratifiantes.

I am deeply grateful to the entire Communications Department of the Presidency for their trust. Today, this logo, reused across multiple national celebrations remains one of my greatest sources of pride.
